St. Andrew’s Lodge of Freemasons is established.
November 30, 1756
(Nov.) Formed by men who left or had been excluded from the St. John’s Lodge, it meets at the Green Dragon Tavern. Members include Paul Revere and Joseph Warren. The lodge is reorganized as the Massachusetts Grand Lodge of St. Andrew at the same site on December 27, 1769. It receives a charter from Scotland on September 4, 1760.
